Candy Cane Lane lights up success

Owning and growing a small business is difficult enough on its own, but something most people overlook is how hard it is to find a unique opportunity and pursue it. For Ben and Amy Hanson, that was providing drive-thru Christmas lights, something nobody in the area had done before. Their creative idea, along with the business planning of Christina from LSBDC, eventually became what is now Candy Cane Lane.

Candy Cane Lane is a drive-thru Christmas light display located in Calhoun, LA featuring approximately one mile of lighted path with over one million individual lights.

“We were able to cash fund it, but we just needed guidance,” explains Amy. The spouses started working with LSBDC in April 2016.

“We had an excellent experience with Christina Davis at LSBDC. She was knowledgeable, helpful, and super patient with us. We were incredibly pleased with our business plan she put together, and we could not have done it without her expertise.”

Christina was able to take the research and ideas that Ben and Amy had and help turn it into a digestible business plan. Now, Candy Cane Lane is slated to be open and running this 2017 holiday season.
